Sources said the nine Z Plus category VIPs are being protected by Black Cat commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG). These include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BSP supremo Mayawati, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Democratic Progressive Azad Party. (DPAP) President Ghulam Nabi Azad, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will now be provided security by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The central government has ordered anti-terrorist commando force NSG to completely withdraw it from VIP security duties and hand over its nine high-risk VIPs to CRPF by next month. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has also approved a new battalion of specially trained personnel. Recently he has been removed from Parliament security duties. Now the battalion of trained personnel will be attached to the CRPF VIP security wing.

The transfer of duties between the two forces under the Home Ministry is expected to be completed within a month. The CRPF’s six VIP security battalions have been asked to include a seventh battalion for the purpose. The latest battalion is the one which used to protect the Parliament till a few months ago. After the security breach last year, the security of Parliament was removed from CRPF and handed over to CISF.
