When Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister, Geeta Jain extended her support to Shiv Sena and later she herself joined Shiv Sena. However, as the internal conflict in Shiv Sena increased, he left Shiv Sena and joined BJP on 22 June 2022.
Journey from councilor to MLA
Geeta Jain had won the 2019 Mira Bhayandar seat by contesting as an independent candidate. He then defeated BJP candidate Narendra Mehta by more than 15 thousand votes. Geeta Jain joined Shiv Sena on 21 October 2020. After this Geeta Jain joined BJP. He is with BJP since 31 July 2022. Geeta Jain had previously been the mayor of this area for three terms (from 2015 to August 2017). Before this, she had also been a councilor several times.
Government engineer was slapped in public
He has also been associated with controversies. Once he slapped a government engineer for being careless. According to the information, a campaign was being run by the Municipal Corporation against illegal construction in Kashimira area of Mira-Bhayander assembly constituency of Geeta Jain. MBMC engineer Shubham Patil along with one of his colleagues had gone to Kashimira to demolish the illegal construction. Local people allege that their huts are being demolished without any notice and they are being forcibly removed. As soon as information about this was received, MLA Geeta Jain reached the spot.
