NDA committed to advancing national progress, empowering the poor: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is committed to advancing national progress and empowering the poor and the underprivileged.

After the swearing-in ceremony of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and his cabinet in Panchkula, a meeting of NDA Chief Ministers was held at a five-star hotel here, which was attended by 17 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers.

“We had a wide-ranging discussion on aspects of good governance and ways to improve the lives of people,” Prime Minister Modi said in a post on ‘X’. “Our alliance is committed to advancing national progress and empowering the poor and the underprivileged.”

This was the first such meeting of NDA Chief Ministers in the last several years. Senior Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and JP Nadda were present in this meeting. Giving information to reporters about the meeting, Union Minister and BJP President Nadda said that the Prime Minister laid emphasis on good governance.

According to Nadda, the Prime Minister said, “In the interest of the people, efforts should be made to focus on good governance.” He said Home Minister Amit Shah put forward a proposal on the completion of 50 years of the imposition of Emergency.

“Democracy was murdered with the Emergency in 1975,” he said. In 2025 we will discuss the murder of democracy. We will also expose those who murdered the Constitution and tell people how they tried to crush the Constitution and strangle its basic spirit.”

Rajnath Singh proposed to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of the Constitution in 2025. According to Nadda, the Prime Minister also said that it is a matter of happiness for everyone that for the first time after the new government took charge in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, the swearing-in ceremony took place under the Constitution of India.

Earlier, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir was sworn in under the constitution of the state. Nadda said that for the first time in independent India, under the leadership of Modi, an oath taking program was organized in Jammu and Kashmir under the Constitution of India.
