Team India’s Gabbar i.e. Shikhar Dhawan has said goodbye to international cricket. After which he joined the Legends League Cricket on Monday 26 August. The 38-year-old left-handed batsman can now participate in the T20 league outside the IPL. Dhawan has played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20 matches for India, in which he has scored a total of 12,286 international runs. Legends League Cricket will be organized in September.
Shikhar Dhawan said on joining Legends League Cricket, “My body is still ready for the demands of the game. I am comfortable with my decision and cricket is an integral part of my personality. It will never leave me. I am looking forward to reuniting with my cricket friends and continuing to entertain my fans. We will create new memories together.”
At the same time, Legends League co-founder Raman Raheja has welcomed Shikhar Dhawan to the league. During this, he has said that, we are thrilled to have Shikhar Dhawan joining us. His experience and temperament will undoubtedly take the tournament forward and entertain the fans. We are looking forward to seeing him in action with other legends of cricket. This will further strengthen our position as a second innings for legendary cricketers.
Let us tell you that the new season of Legends Cricket League is going to start in September 2024. In which retired cricketers will be seen playing. These include players like Aaron Finch, Martin Guptill and Hashim Amla.
