Amid the turmoil in Bangladesh, reports of atrocities against Hindus and other religious minorities are coming to the fore. This is going to increase India’s concern. Amidst all this, Akhilesh Yadav has posted an ex-post regarding atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Akhilesh wrote in his post that no community, whether it is the majority of Bangladesh with a different viewpoint or the minority of Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists or any other religion-sect-belief, should be a victim of violence.

The SP chief further said that the Indian government should strictly raise this issue at the international level as a protection of human rights. This is also a very sensitive issue of our defense and internal security. Meanwhile, Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar said on Monday that the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, is a “secular” leader and he will ensure that there is no conflict between different communities in his country.

Pawar told reporters in Pune, “As per my knowledge, he (Yunus) is secular and he will never do anything to create conflict between different communities and different linguistic groups. It is important for Bangladesh to adopt a balanced approach and it seems that the situation will improve (there).” The former Union minister said that the Indian government will cooperate with Bangladesh to help improve its situation. Pawar also said that Yunus had come to Pune many years ago.
