They never came to power with the blessings of the people. In 2008 and 2019, they came to power through ‘Operation Lotus’ and backdoor entry.

Siddaramaiah said that BJP-JD(S) is trying to destabilise the state government through Operation Lotus. BJP has never come to power in the state with the blessings of the people. He said that it is not an easy thing to destabilise the Congress government of 136 MLAs. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on August 16 gave his sanction for prosecution of activists Pradeep Kumar SP, TJ Abraham and Snehamayi Krishna for the alleged offences mentioned in their petitions under section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section 218 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023.
