Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh). Uttar Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat Dinesh Pratap Singh said on Wednesday that he will be on partial leave on Saturdays and Sundays for one year as he has to fulfil family responsibilities. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi defeated Singh by about four lakh votes in the Lok Sabha elections. Singh said that now that Rahul Gandhi has become your MP, I hope that he will not let you feel any kind of shortage and will solve all the problems of the public on Saturdays and Sundays.

According to the Election Commission, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi got a total of 6,87,649 votes from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat, while BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh got 2,97,619 votes. Singh, while addressing the people of Rae Bareli, said in a letter, I humbly request the people of Rae Bareli that I have been serving you tirelessly and without stopping from 2019 to 2024. During this time, my family responsibilities have been left behind, my sons and daughters have become of marriageable age and I have to fulfill those responsibilities as well.

He said in the letter that after serving the government and the party, we get only Saturdays and Sundays to fulfill our family responsibilities, so I ask you for partial leave only on Saturdays and Sundays for one year so that I can fulfill my family responsibilities. On the remaining days, I will continue to serve you as before. I will be with you in every happiness and sorrow. In the letter, Singh expressed hope that people will not miss him because Rahul Gandhi is the MP of Rae Bareli and he will always be with them. He said, he (Rahul Gandhi) will sit in Rae Bareli every Saturday, Sunday and will solve your every problem from Lekhpal to District Magistrate, from Daroga to Chief Minister to Prime Minister.

Also, he (Gandhi) will be with you in every happiness and sorrow, whether it is your daughter’s wedding or any other purpose. Singh also thanked the people who voted for him and said that he will take responsibility for them. He said, I express my heartfelt gratitude to those three lakh voters of Rae Bareli, who gave me their blessings even in adverse circumstances and their responsibility will always be on my shoulders. Questioning Rahul Gandhi’s victory, he said, Rahul Gandhi’s victory was not due to him, his party, his service and his ability, but he got success due to the temporary support of SP voters and workers, whereas I got the blessings of about three lakh votes from the voters of Rae Bareli due to my party and my service.
