The Maritime Partnership Exercise between the Indian Navy and the German Navy near the Kiel Canal symbolises the outreach and continuing efforts of the Indian Navy, as well as an important milestone in maritime cooperation between the two countries.

Indian Navy’s frontline frigate INS Tabar conducted Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with German Navy near Kiel Canal on 5 August during her return from St Petersburg, Russia. INS Tabar had earlier visited Hamburg, Germany on 17 July. These engagements are aimed at strengthening maritime ties between the two countries. The Maritime Partnership Exercise with Sea Lynx of 3rd Squadron Naval Air Wing 5 (MFG5) of German Navy included a series of advanced maritime operations such as ship controlled approach, winching exercises and VERTEP serial. Units of both navies demonstrated high level of professionalism and commitment to enhance collaborative efforts. Indian Navy is committed to fostering partnerships with navies across the world. The MPX with German Navy reinforces the strong bilateral naval relations and our ability to work together in maritime security operations.
