Indian team should play to its potential instead of focusing on the opposition team: Yuvraj Singh

New York. Yuvraj Singh, famous for his aggressive batting, believes that the Indian team has no lack of skill and confidence and if it plays to its potential instead of focusing on the opposing team in the T20 World Cup, then it can end its long wait to win the ICC trophy. India won its last ICC tournament in the form of Champions Trophy in 2013. Two years before this, India won the ODI World Cup due to the brilliant performance of Yuvraj.

India also won the first T20 World Cup in 2007 in which Yuvraj hit six sixes in an over of fast bowler Stuart Broad in the league match against England. When Yuvraj was asked about India not winning an ICC trophy for more than a decade, he said, “I believe that we have the confidence to win big tournaments. If India believes in itself and plays to its full potential, it can win the title.”

Yuvraj, ICC ambassador for the T20 World Cup, said, “In the past, we have won by focusing on these things. We focused on our strong points. We should not focus on where the opposition team can harm us. We have to focus on our strong points. We have many match-winning players.” He said, “IPL is the best platform to prepare for the ICC World Cup and I am hopeful that it will be a great tournament.”

Yuvraj said, “If India wins, it will be a great moment for us. It has been a long time since India won the ICC trophy. Hopefully this time our team will end this wait.” America and West Indies are jointly hosting the T20 World Cup. When Yuvraj was asked which teams can make it to the final, he said, “I hope India and possibly West Indies or Pakistan but not Australia.
