Voting for the first phase will be held on November 13 while voting for the second phase will be held on November 20. At the same time, the results of Jharkhand elections will also come on November 23 along with the results of Maharashtra elections.

Announcing the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that this time elections will be conducted in two phases in the state. Voting for the first phase will be held on November 13 while voting for the second phase will be held on November 20. At the same time, the results of Jharkhand elections will also come on November 23 along with the results of Maharashtra elections. The Jharkhand Assembly elections will be contested by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is seeking to oust the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government from power. In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the JMM-led alliance, which included the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), won a decisive victory by winning 47 of the 81 assembly seats.

JMM emerged as the largest party with 30 seats, while Congress won 16 seats and RJD won 1 seat. BJP, which was in power before the elections, won 25 seats. After the elections, JMM leader Hemant Soren took oath as the Chief Minister. However, Soren, who is facing corruption charges in an alleged land scam case, faces a tough challenge this time. BJP leader Pratul Shah Dev said that we welcome the announcement of the Election Commission. 2.6 crore people will vote for the next government of Jharkhand. We appeal to the people to come out in large numbers and oust this autocratic, corrupt and anti-people government from this state.
