New Delhi. IT sector employees union ‘KNIGHTS’ has urged the Ministry of Labor and Employment to investigate the repeated delays in more than 2,000 campus recruitments by technology major Infosys. The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (KNIGHTS) alleged that the delays have been continuing for more than two years. The affected professionals are facing a lot of difficulties and are stuck in “uncertainty”. However, Infosys has not yet commented on this.

Harpreet Singh Saluja, president of the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate, alleged that Infosys’ action was a “serious betrayal” of these young professionals. “Many people turned down other jobs relying on Infosys’ ‘offer letter’. Now they are facing financial hardship and uncertainty due to lack of income and unclear recruitment timelines,” he said. The Knights has written to the Ministry of Labour and Employment seeking an investigation into the matter to ensure that Infosys fulfills its obligations to its new employees. It has also demanded that the affected professionals be paid full salary for the period of delay in recruitment.
