India has got its second gold medal in Paris Paralympics 2024. On the fifth day of Paralympics i.e. on Monday, Nitesh Kumar won the gold medal in the Men’s Singles SL3 event of Para Badminton. Nitesh defeated Daniel Bethell of Great Britain in the final. With this, India now has a total of 9 medals. With this, this is India’s first medal in para-badminton so far.

During this, para badminton player Nitesh Kumar performed brilliantly. He defeated British player Daniel Bethel in the match with a score of 21-14, 18-21, 23-21. In this match, Nitesh won the first match 21-14, while he fell behind in the second match but made a great comeback in the third match and won the match. He faced tough competition from the British player.

At the same time, Nitesh Kumar has given India the second medal in Paralympics 2024. Earlier, Avani Lekhara had given India its first gold in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle SH1 event.

Let us tell you that when Nitesh was 15 years old, his life took a tragic turn and he lost his leg in a train accident in Visakhapatnam in 2009. He was very depressed due to being bedridden. Nitesh came to know about badminton while studying at IIT-Mandi and then this game became his strength.
