Nvidia begins delivering latest chips to Indian partners Tata Communications and Jio

AI chip giant Nvidia has started supplying its latest chips like the GH200 AI to Indian partners like Tata Communications and Jio Platforms, which are building artificial intelligence (AI)-based cloud infrastructure. According to information from the company, the company has started delivering products to partners.

Vishal Dhupar, Nvidia’s South Asia managing director, told Moneycontrol, “Yes, deployments are on by our partners, and we are delivering products to them.” As per the report, Tata Communications managing director and chief executive officer A.S. Lakshminarayanan confirmed the same and said the company has received some chips which are being deployed.

This comes amid concerns over delays in supply of chips by Nvidia, after Jensen Huang’s company announced partnerships with Reliance and Tata group companies in September last year to help them develop AI-powered supercomputers, AI cloud, and generative AI applications.

Vishal Dhupar said his focus is on solving “hard problems” for India through collaboration, Nvidia’s technology and AI products. He said the company is not chasing market share but is focused on creating new markets that will help the economy. “We want to do this because no one was willing to solve these. It was within my capability; I could put resources and apply myself, and I know it has an impact on people and the economy. I create markets… I create industries. There is another ideology where people run fast and want market share. I would like to spend my energy on long-term problems, creating markets and making sure people benefit,” he said.
