Vinesh Phogat of India competed in the 50 kg wrestling category at the Paris Olympics. She won all three matches on the first day and made it to the finals. When her weight was measured on the second day, it was found to be 100 grams more than the prescribed limit. After this, she was disqualified. The person whom Vinesh defeated in the semi-finals was promoted and given a place in the finals. Vinesh neither got a medal nor was she given any ranking.
