Political uproar after pictures surfaced from Rock Memorial, Digvijay’s question, does Modi not come under the purview of law and rules?

YEARS

Singh raised questions on the issue and asked, ‘Does PM Modi not follow the law and rules?’ He further asked the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to respond on the issue.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing his photographs meditating inside the Vivekananda Smarak as photography is not allowed in the sacred area. Singh questioned the issue and asked “does PM Modi not follow the law and rules”. He further asked the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to respond on the issue.

Replying to an X user Kapil, who pointed out that PM Modi released the pictures of the meditation hall inside Vivekananda Memorial as photography is not allowed and punishable by law, the Congress leader said, “Thanks for pointing this out. Is Narendra Modi not governed by law and rules or regulations do not apply to him? Will the PMO please respond?” The X user added, “This is the first time you will see pictures of the meditation hall inside Vivekananda Memorial as photography is not allowed here and punishable by law. But what is a ‘camera-jeevee’ without a camera?”

PM Modi on Thursday arrived in Tamil Nadu’s coastal town of Kanniyakumari where he began his 45-hour meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, which will conclude on Saturday evening. He began his meditation at the Dhyan Mandapam, where revered Hindu philosopher Swami Vivekananda is believed to have received a divine vision about ‘Bharat Mata’. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati also meditated on one leg at the same spot while waiting for Lord Shiva.
