Raid on a factory making fake ‘lubricant oil’ in Bhadohi, two arrested including owner and manager

A joint team of the supply department and police of Bhadohi district raided a factory manufacturing fake lubricant oil under the brand name of ‘Castrol India Limited’ and seized a large quantity of fake products and arrested the factory owner and manager.

Officials gave this information on Saturday. Officials said that the raid was conducted on the instructions of District Magistrate Vishal Singh. According to the officials of the supply department, this action was taken on Friday night at Petrolube Private Limited located in Carpet City, Plot and counterfeit goods were recovered from the spot.

Based on the complaint by supply inspector Sangeeta Yadav, a case has been registered against Petrolube Pvt Ltd owner Vinay Kumar Singh and manager Mukesh Kumar Gupta, said Inspector-in-Charge (SHO) of the district’s Kotwali police station, Ashwani Kumar Tripathi.

He said that based on the complaint lodged, the supply department and the police team jointly conducted the raid and during this more than 25 employees were found present.

He said that during the raid, several large drums of adulterated diesel, empty and filled cans, and 360 litres of fake lubricant bearing fake labels similar to that of ‘Castrol India’ were recovered.

Yadav said that during interrogation, the arrested people told that they used to supply fake oil on a large scale in the name of ‘Castrol India Limited’. According to Sunil Kumar of Castrol India Limited, the cost of the recovered fake goods is in lakhs of rupees and it was revealed that fake oil was being sold from here in many other areas including Purvanchal.
