Mumbai. Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) President Sharad Pawar held a meeting with the party’s newly elected MPs here on Thursday. NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) contested 10 seats in Maharashtra in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections and won eight. The party contested the elections along with Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress under the banner of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Only Supriya Sule (Baramati) and Nilesh Lanke (Ahmednagar) were not present in the meeting held at the party office in Mumbai.

All other MPs Amol Kolhe (Shirur), Bhaskar Bhagre (Dindori), Suresh Mhatre (Bhiwandi), Bajrang Sonawane (Beed), Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil (Madha) and Amar Kale (Wardha) were present. Pawar interacted with the newly elected MPs and party workers and discussed the party’s performance in the elections. The NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) has achieved 80 per cent success by winning eight out of 10 seats.

On the contrary, the faction of Ajit Pawar, who broke away from the party and is now the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, has won only one seat while it had fielded its candidates on four seats. Thus, the success rate of Ajit Pawar’s faction was only 25 percent.
