The first Boeing flight carrying astronauts was postponed at the last moment

The launch of Boeing’s first astronaut-carrying flight was postponed again at the last minute on Saturday due to a computer system glitch. The company’s Starliner capsule was carrying two astronauts from the US space agency NASA when the computer system controlling the final minutes before the flight automatically stopped the countdown at three minutes and 50 seconds.

With little time left for takeoff, there was no time to fix the problem and the launch was eventually postponed. As soon as the launch failed, technicians rushed to evacuate astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard the capsule on the Atlas V rocket at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Tory Bruno, chief executive of rocket manufacturer United Lawns Alliance, said the team was unable to access the computer system to fix the problem until all the fuel was removed from the rocket.

The next launch attempt can be made by Wednesday morning after fixing the problem. If the rocket is unable to fly in the coming week, it will take until mid-June to remove the rocket from the pad and replace the batteries.

This was the second launch attempt. The first attempt was made on May 6 but that too was postponed due to a valve problem. Boeing’s first flight, which was pending for many years, has been delayed once again due to problems in the capsule.
