This information was received from the Election Commission’s website. Counting of votes for 50 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh began at 6 am on Sunday amid tight security. The BJP has already won 10 seats in the 60-member assembly unopposed. In the first phase of elections in Arunachal Pradesh, voting was held simultaneously for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections on April 19. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is leading on three seats while the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) and an independent candidate are leading on two seats each. Congress is ahead on just one seat in this northeastern state. Despite rain across the state, hundreds of supporters of various political parties were seen standing near the counting centers.

SKM’s dominance resounds in Sikkim

Supporters and workers of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) gathered at the Zila Panchayat office in Mangan district during the counting of votes for the Sikkim Assembly election. Ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has crossed the halfway mark; leading in 28 seats. SDF is leading in one seat. The majority mark in the Sikkim Assembly is 17 out of 32 assembly seats.
