Pawar said on Monday in Phaltan in Satara district of Maharashtra that whether he turns 84 or 90, this old man will not stop. He was addressing a program organized to induct NCP leader Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar’s brother Sanjeev Raje Naik Nimbalkar and Phaltan MLA Deepak Chavan into the NCP (SP).
The former Union minister said that he had seen some young members of his party carrying banners with his photographs. The NCP (SP) president said, “On those banners, I was described as an 84-year-old man. But don’t worry because whether I turn 84 or 90, this old man will not stop. This old man will stop at nothing until he puts the kingdom on the right path and I am sure of your help.”
He accused the Eknath Shinde-led coalition government in the state of being involved in corruption. When the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj collapsed at Rajkot Fort in Sindhudurg district in August, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister alleged that the incident showed corruption in the construction of the statue. He said, “This is the policy of those who indulge in corruption in every field and hence it is your and my responsibility to snatch power from their hands.” Elections for the 288-member assembly in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase. It will be held on 20th November and the results will be announced on 23rd November.
