Thackeray told reporters that the MNS would contest the assembly elections independently and stressed that they would contest more seats than any other party.

Politics has intensified regarding Maharashtra Assembly elections. Amidst all this, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has made a big claim. Raj Thackeray said that MNS will contest Maharashtra Assembly elections on its own without any alliance. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief had supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s candidature in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and campaigned for the BJP-led Mahayuti candidates in the state.

Thackeray told reporters that the MNS would contest the assembly elections independently and stressed that they would contest more seats than any other party. The firebrand leader, known for his oratory skills, said, “We will contest the elections with full vigour. After the elections, MNS will be in the government. MNS will contest the maximum number of seats among all the political parties.” He also welcomed the state government’s decision to waive toll at five entry points of Mumbai and said his party has been campaigning for this for many years.

Thackeray, who founded MNS in 2006 after breaking away from the undivided Shiv Sena, had openly supported Modi’s candidature for the post of PM in 2014. But then he changed track and became a harsh critic of her and went to the extent of playing the video. The promises made by Modi in his rallies and how they remained unfulfilled. Of the 288 assembly constituencies in the state, MNS had won one seat each in the 2014 and 2019 elections. Maharashtra will go to polls in a single phase on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
