In the last few years, ties between the two countries have expanded into many new areas under the leadership of the two leaders, from the acquisition of Rafale fighter jets to developing helicopter engines. French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday congratulated “dear friend” Narendra Modi as the BJP-led NDA is set to form a government for a third consecutive term in India. “India has just concluded the world’s largest election! Congratulations to my dear friend, Narendra Modi. Together we will continue to strengthen the strategic partnership that unites India and France,” Macron posted on Twitter. “Congratulations to Narendra Modi on being unanimously elected leader of the NDA. The last 10 years have witnessed an era of massive development and well-being under Modiji’s visionary leadership. The NDA is firmly committed to serving the country and its people with new strength and momentum,” Macron wrote on Twitter.
