Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council for the protection of minorities in the wake of the chaos that spread in Bangladesh after the fall of the government. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan called for the protection of minorities like Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and Ahmadiyas in the neighbouring country. “I appeal to the United Nations Human Rights, United Nations Human Rights Council and Bangladesh High Commission in India to take immediate necessary action and restore peace in the neighbouring country,” he said in a post on X.

Praying for the safety, security and stability of all minorities in the neighbouring country, the Jana Sena chief said that the recent scenes and pictures emerging from Bangladesh are heartbreaking and worrying. Referring to the alleged stabbing and murder of Bangladesh Communist Party leader Pradip Bhowmick and the vandalism of Hindu temples, Kalyan expressed his pain and concern.
