BJP is “cheating” public opinion through exit polls: Akhilesh

Lucknow. Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday termed the exit polls of the Lok Sabha elections as BJP exit polls and said that public opinion is being deceived through this exercise to create scope for “fraud”. Yadav said on the social media platform X, “Understand the sequence of the exit polls – the opposition had already declared that the BJP media will show the BJP crossing 300, so that there is scope for fraud. Today’s BJP exit poll was prepared many months ago. The channels have just aired it today.”

He alleged that public opinion is being deceived through this ‘exit poll’. He said that on the basis of this ‘exit poll’, BJP wants to take advantage of the stock market which opens on Monday. He said that BJP leaders are realizing that the result of the whole country cannot be changed like the Chandigarh mayor election because this time the opposition is fully alert and public anger is also at its peak. Akhilesh said, “The corrupt officials who are in cahoots with BJP are also not able to muster courage to rig the elections after seeing the activism of the Supreme Court. Also, they do not want to become a victim of public anger.”

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said, “All the workers, office bearers and candidates of ‘India’ (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) alliance should not make even one percent mistake in monitoring the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). ‘India’ alliance is winning, so be alert and get the counting done and celebrate the victory only after getting the certificate of victory.” He also said that the basis of ‘exit poll’ is not EVM but DM (District Magistrate). He said, “The administration should remember that there is no greater force than man power.”

On Sunday evening, SP chief Yadav in his second post on X said that the election results will come from ‘counting of votes’, not ‘manganas’! ‘Mann ki Baat’ does not apply to elections, there ‘Jan ki Baat’ prevails and when the aware public is alert, no one can do as he pleases. Yadav said in a series of posts that the poor people who are forced to give false figures on the TV screen under the pressure of the government are also saying in a hushed voice in solitude that the BJP is losing. These helpless people are saying that there will be a tough fight in 13 important states when the correct results are declared on June 4, and in the rest of the states, the BJP’s presence is anyway zero. In the results of many exit polls (post-poll surveys) that came after the completion of the voting in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has been predicted to get a huge majority.
