Captain Rohit Sharma is fit for IND vs PAK match, Indian team will not complain about the pitch

The Indian team won its first match by defeating Ireland at Nassau County Stadium in New York, but meanwhile questions are being raised about the pitch. The pitch is proving to be dangerous due to open cracks, due to which Indian captain Rohit Sharma got injured. After that, the ball hit Rishabh Pant’s elbow, however, he continued his game and finished the match by hitting a six. Rohit Sharma retired hurt due to a shoulder injury.

A BCCI source told PTI that Rohit Sharma’s injury is not serious and he is fit for the match against Pakistan. The source said, “Rohit Sharma’s injury is not serious. He himself said that it is a little painful. At present, he should be fit for the Pakistan match. There are two practice sessions before that.”

Experts have also given their opinion about the pitch of New York Stadium and have termed it as not good. Meanwhile, the Indian team management is unlikely to complain about the pitch.

A source close to the Indian team said, “This is actually a very fresh pitch. There is bright grass but there are big cracks as well. So it will seam but will also bounce from the length. Now when you have a fresh track like this, you first try some games, like you do beta testing with a new app. Then you launch it in the market. This is not a T20 wicket and all the four tracks look the same.

The source said that, we should be happy that nothing serious happened to Rohit and Rishabh Pant. They are fine. Apart from this, due to the cracked pitch, Jaspreet Bumrah’s ball first hit the gloves of Ireland’s Harry Tector and then hit his helmet.
