China is pressuring other countries not to participate in Ukraine peace talks: Zelensky

Singapore. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday claimed that China is pressuring other countries not to attend the upcoming Ukraine peace talks. Zelensky accused China of helping Russia to disrupt a peace conference proposed by Switzerland regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine. At a press conference at the Shangri-La Defense Forum in Singapore, Zelensky said that China is pressuring other countries not to attend the upcoming Ukraine peace talks.

He said, “Russia, using Chinese influence in the region, is making every effort to disrupt the peace summit.” He said, “It is unfortunate that a powerful country like China is a puppet in the hands of Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin).” Earlier in the day, while addressing the Asian Security Conference, Zelensky urged top defense officials to attend the upcoming summit and said he was disappointed by some countries’ failure to commit to attend it.

He said, “We are ready to listen to various proposals and ideas, so that the war can end and a lasting solution can be found.” Zelensky said that he plans to meet the Prime Minister of Singapore and he will request him to personally join the Switzerland talks.
