Hindenburg Research released a report on Saturday and made serious allegations against SEBI Chairperson Madhavi Puri Buch and her husband Dhabal Buch. In the report, Hindenburg said that the SEBI Chairperson and her husband have a stake in the foreign fund that was used for alleged money laundering in the Adani Group. As soon as this new report of Hindenburg came out, the opposition started targeting the central government.
Congress has also demanded the formation of a joint parliamentary committee to investigate the scam. On the Hindenburg report, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, ‘The truth came out on its own. The Indian government did not pay attention to any special investigation. Hindenburg itself released another report in which all their deeds came out in the open. Their investments in offshore companies came out, when everything is out in the open, the question arises that when Madhavi Buch was made the head of SEBI, did the Indian government not know this? If not, then this is a huge failure. Rahul Gandhi had said that the watchman is a thief, that has been proved.’

Now BJP has hit back at Congress. BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said, ‘For the last few years, whenever the Parliament session starts, a foreign report is released. BBC documentary was released just before the Parliament session. Hindenburg report came in January just before the Parliament session. All these developments happen during the Parliament session. The opposition has such foreign relations that they create instability and chaos during every Parliament session of India. They want to create economic chaos in India through confusion. Now they are attacking SEBI. Why has Congress always stood with foreign companies for the last 30-40 years? Why did it stand with Union Carbide?’
