The first Test match between India and Bangladesh is being played in Chennai. On the third day of the Test, Rishabh Pant scored a century against Bangladesh. Pant returned to Test cricket after 634 days and scored a century in his comeback Test. Pant played his last Test against Bangladesh in December 2022 and scored a fifty in that too.

This is Pant’s sixth century in his Test career. However, Pant could not stay at the crease for long after the century and was out after scoring 109 runs. With this, Pant has already equalled former captain MS Dhoni. As a wicketkeeper, Pant now has 6 centuries in Tests, equal to Dhoni. However, Pant reached this milestone much before Dhoni. While Dhoni played 144 innings to score 6 centuries in 6 Tests, Pant did this feat in just 58 Test innings. Pant also hit 13 fours and 4 sixes in his 109-run innings.
