Mumbai. Japan Airlines has entered into a codeshare agreement with IndiGo. This will help the Japanese airline expand its services to 14 destinations of the domestic airline network. Japan Airlines currently operates its services from Tokyo to Delhi and Bengaluru. It operates daily flight services to the national capital from Haneda Airport, while it operates thrice a week flights to Bengaluru from Narita Airport.

The statement said, “Japan Airlines (JAL) and IndiGo have agreed on a codeshare partnership. This will benefit people by providing more travel options between Japan and India.” Abhijit Dasgupta, Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management, airline IndiGo, said, “IndiGo is expanding its segment of codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines through this agreement. This phase of the partnership expands the options available to Japan Airlines customers for traveling to/from Japan using IndiGo’s extensive network in India. ”

He said that this partnership will provide seamless connectivity to promote trade, commerce and tourism between the two countries. Ross Leggett, Managing Executive Officer and Senior Vice President (Route Marketing) at Japan Airlines, said, “With the help of a comprehensive network, passengers traveling to and from India and Japan will be able to book their flights on a single ticket. India has achieved remarkable economic growth in recent years. The demand for air travel between Japan and India is growing more than ever before.
