Police took big action in the attack on Ram Kripal Yadav’s convoy, one person was arrested

The BJP leader had filed an FIR on June 1, hours after the alleged attack. In the complaint, he mentioned that his convoy was attacked by a group of miscreants after the conclusion of the last phase of polling in the country.

An arrest has been made in connection with the attack on the convoy of BJP leader and party candidate from Patliputra Ram Kripal Yadav, Bihar Police said. The accused, identified as Vikas Yadav, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the attack, while raids are underway to nab the other eight suspects, police said. “Out of the total nine accused mentioned in the FIR, a special team has been formed to arrest the remaining eight accused,” they said.

It is noteworthy that the BJP leader had lodged an FIR on June 1, hours after the alleged attack. In the complaint, he mentioned that his convoy was attacked by a group of miscreants after the conclusion of the last phase of polling in the country. He said, while returning after inspecting a polling station in Tineri, a group of people targeted his vehicle. They pelted stones and fired bullets, during which two party supporters were also injured.

On the incident, City SP (East) Bharat Soni said, “Information was received that some unidentified people attacked the convoy of Ram Kripal Yadav near Tineri village of Masaurhi in Patna at around 7.30 pm on Saturday evening. Some party workers were also injured. An application has been given by Ramkripal Yadav and we are investigating the matter.” Meanwhile, Ramkripal Yadav has accused RJD of being involved in this ‘conspiracy’. It is worth noting that in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Yadav has been fielded against RJD leader Misa Bharti in Pataliputra.
