Despite not having much time between the two tournaments, Praggnanandhaa bounced back and performed better and held Abdusattorov to a draw. France’s Alireza Firouzja, who won the St. Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament, continued his excellent form and defeated America’s Fabiano Caruana.

This match was important according to the ranking of the Grand Chess Tour. Firouzja, who won the title last week and overtook Caruana to take the lead in the Grand Chess Tour, now has a good chance of winning the overall title.
