‘The tradition of the Raghukul dynasty has always been followed. Life may go but words should never go.’ Kirodi Lal Meena will resign from his post taking responsibility for the defeat in Rajasthan!

Before the counting of the Lok Sabha election votes on June 4, Rajasthan minister Kirori Lal Meena had said on Monday that he would resign from his cabinet post if the BJP loses even one of the seven seats under him. Now the truth has come out in Rajasthan. For the BJP Rajasthan Nothing special has been proved. The 2024 Lok Sabha election has not been very special for the BJP which has captured all the seats. BJP could win only 14 out of 25 seats in the state, Congress won 8 seats and the rest. Now after the loss of 11 seats in the state Will Kirori Lal Meena take responsibility for this and resign from his post?

The agriculture and rural development minister campaigned in seats in eastern Rajasthan, including Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk-Sawaimadhopur and Kota-Bundi.

Meena had campaigned extensively in Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk-Sawai Madhopur and Kota-Bundi in eastern Rajasthan. The current results show BJP leading in 14 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, including Dausa. Following this, state cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena on Tuesday indicated that he would resign from his post if the party loses even one of the seven seats under his supervision.

Sharing a verse from Ramcharitmanas on social media platform X, he said, ‘Raghukula reeti sada chali aayi, pran jaai par bachan na jaai.’ He had said on Monday that the PM had given him a list of seven seats in eastern Rajasthan on which he had worked hard.

He said, ‘Before the PM came to Dausa, I had said that if the (Dausa) seat is not won, I will quit the ministerial post. Later the PM spoke to me separately and gave me a list of 7 seats. I worked hard on 11 seats, 7 more. If the party loses even one of those 7 seats, I will quit the ministerial post.’

Meena, the minister for agriculture, rural development, disaster management and relief, campaigned in Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk-Sawaimadhopur and Kota-Bundi in eastern Rajasthan. The BJP is leading in Bikaner, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Jalore, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran. Commenting on Meena’s statement, Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara said, “I am sure Meena will stick to his word and resign.”
