International sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sudarshan Patnaik won the gold medal in the International Sand Sculpture Championship held in St. Petersburg, Russia on July 12. After meeting PM Narendra Modi, sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik said that ‘This is a proud day for me as an artist. 21 sculptors from all over the world participated in the championship and I made a statue of Lord Jagannath’s devotee Balramdas. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi called me, welcomed me and honored me. This will be encouraging for every artist and achiever.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday felicitated sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik at his residence in Bhubaneswar for winning the Golden Sand Master award with gold medal at the International Sand Sculpture Championship held at St Petersburg, Russia, the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that while Patnaik’s talent has made him famous at a personal level, it has also made Odisha proud. “He is the pride of Odisha and the country,” the CM said. CM Majhi said that having won several national and international competitions, Patnaik is excelling in sand art. The Chief Minister hoped that he will gain even more fame in the days to come.
