Bhubaneswar. Around 7.69 per cent polling was recorded till 9 am in six Lok Sabha seats and 42 assembly constituencies in the last phase of polling in Odisha on Saturday, officials said. Voting was underway since 7 am in the Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur parliamentary constituencies as well as 42 assembly constituencies falling under these Lok Sabha constituencies. Odisha Chief Electoral Officer N B Dhal said voting at 10,882 polling stations has been peaceful so far except for a few reports of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) glitches.

About 7.69 per cent of the over 99.61 lakh voters exercised their franchise till 9 am, officials said. 66 candidates are in the fray for six parliamentary constituencies in Odisha while 394 candidates are contesting for 42 assembly constituencies. This phase will decide the political future of several prominent leaders including Assembly Speaker Pramila Malik, government chief whip Prasanta Muduli, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda, six Odisha ministers and four sitting MPs.
