Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s statement regarding Tirupati Balaji temple’s prasadam has created a controversy. He has alleged that the previous government used animal fat to prepare the temple’s prasadam.
N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government has used animal fat to make prasadam. Not only this, laddus have also been made in Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati using inferior quality and animal fat as prasadam.
To substantiate its claim, TDP has presented a laboratory report in which it is written that the ghee sample contains animal fat. It is claimed that fish oil is mixed in it. According to the information, its samples were taken on July 9, 2024. The lab report came out on July 16.
Since the release of this report, many questions are being raised. It is being asked whether the tender for ghee was knowingly given to a blacklisted company. Or is there any irregularity in it. Or this tender has been given to such a company due to mistake or negligence. Media reports have also revealed that the terms of the tender have also been violated. Ghee has not been tested.
According to the information, according to clause 80 of the tender, it is necessary for the company to present MABL certificate for every consignment of ghee used. According to clause 81 of the tender, it is very important for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to get the samples of ghee also tested in the lab. It is believed that why the adulteration in the samples of the blacklisted company was not caught earlier during August 2023 to July 2024.
The matter has also come under fire from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple management, which manages the temple. N Chandrababu Naidu has said that the previous government has damaged the sanctity of the Devasthanam by distributing laddus made using substandard material.
