In Delhi excise policy CBI case, Rouse Avenue Court issued summons to CM Arvind Kejriwal after taking cognizance of supplementary chargesheet filed by CBI. Court has listed the case on September 11 for supply of documents. CBI had filed supplementary chargesheet against Arvind Kejriwal, Durgesh Pathak, Vinod Chauhan, Ashish Mathur, Sarath Reddy. A Delhi Court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till September 3 in the corruption case related to the excise policy ‘scam’.

After the expiry of his judicial custody period, Kejriwal was produced through video conference before Special Judge Kaveri Baveja, where his judicial custody period was extended till September 3. The court is currently hearing arguments on whether to take cognizance of the supplementary chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Kejriwal. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed a Delhi court that it has obtained sanction to prosecute Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak in a corruption case related to the alleged excise scam.

This information was given to the court of Special Judge Kaveri Baveja who listed the matter for hearing on August 27. Kejriwal’s judicial custody period in this case is going to end on August 27. On August 12, the court had given 15 days to the CBI to obtain the necessary sanction to prosecute Kejriwal and Pathak in the case.
