Fire in Taj Express: A massive fire broke out in a coach of Taj Express near Sarita Vihar in Delhi

A major fire has been reported in a coach of 2280 Taj Express train going from Okhla to Tughlakabad block section. On receiving the information about the fire, precautionary measures were taken and other coaches of the train were separated from the luggage compartment. Delhi District Magistrate and other officials have reached the spot. An official of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said, “We received information about fire in four coaches of Taj Express train at 4.24 pm. Eight fire engines were pressed into service and efforts are on to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported so far,” the official was quoted as saying by the news agency.

Fire brigade team on the spot

A fire brigade team has also reached the spot and is trying to control the fire. A video of the incident has surfaced, in which huge flames are seen coming out of the train coach.

Recent incident in Godan Express

A similar incident happened recently in Godan Express going from Mumbai to Gorakhpur. The luggage bogie of Godan (Mumbai LTT-Gorakhpur) Express caught fire when the train reached Nasik Road station in Maharashtra. Precautionary measures were taken immediately after the fire broke out and other coaches were separated from the luggage bogie. Fortunately, none of the passenger bogies caught fire, thus averting a potential disaster. Railway officials were present on the spot and the fire was successfully brought under control by fire fighters.
