Himachal’s economic condition is bad, CM Sukhu announced – will not take salary for 2 months, ministers and chief secretary also included

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday told the state assembly that all ministers, chief parliamentary secretaries (CPS) and cabinet level members of the state will not take salary for two months as the state is going through a financial crisis. The Chief Minister said that after discussion in the cabinet, all the members of the cabinet decided that until there is a good improvement in the state in the coming time, we will not take any salary, neither TA, nor DA for two months.

He said that this is a small amount, but symbolic. Apart from this, I also request all the MLAs to contribute in this regard. Sukhu wrote that we have taken a decisive step for the economic interests of the state. We always have to put the bright future of the state before our personal benefits. He said that I have full faith that all of you honorable public representatives will also join us in this noble work and voluntarily support this important decision to delay your salaries and allowances. This is not just our responsibility, but will also be a symbol of our true service and loyalty towards every citizen of the state.
The Congress leader said that let us all together make our invaluable contribution in this effort to rescue the state from the economic crisis in this challenging time. Only our unity, determination and unwavering loyalty will pave the way to overcome this crisis. Only with this commitment and unity will we be able to make Devbhoomi strong and prosperous. However, the opposition BJP, led by former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, walked out of the Assembly on the Chief Minister’s announcement.

He said that according to the information I have received, they will not take salary for two months. They have postponed it now because there is a financial crisis in the state. You have made Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPS) which cannot be made according to the Constitution. Thakur said that you have given cabinet, chairman status to many people and given all facilities. So definitely I believe that this is not the solution to all the problems and he has requested all the MLAs. He said that I will first find out what the matter is and then discuss it with the MLAs.
