Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Wednesday announced that the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to hold simultaneous elections across the country at the same level for both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Regarding this, BJP President JP Nadda has posted on X. He wrote that the Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee on the ‘One Nation One Election’ initiative.

This initiative will not only strengthen the Indian democratic values and ideals, but it will also prove to be a historic reform in our parliamentary system. Yadav said that I am very happy that with today’s decision, another important declaration made in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sankalp Patra is going to be realized. Goa CM Pramod Sawant said that bringing and implementing reforms for the development of the nation is the commitment of the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Union Cabinet accepted the recommendations of the high level committee headed by former President of India Ram Nath Kovind ji on simultaneous elections in the country i.e. one nation one election. The biggest election reforms will bring stability, fixed terms and saving of resources for governments. I welcome this decision wholeheartedly.
