who is rubina francis bronze medal in paris paralympics 2024 success stroy mechanic father

India has now won 5 medals so far in Paris Paralympics 2024. India got another medal in shooting on the third day of the Paralympics. Rubina Francis of Madhya Pradesh won the bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol SH1 event. Rubina Francis scored 211.1 points in the final match.

Rubina’s father Simon Francis is a mechanic by profession. His family was in financial difficulties from the very beginning. Due to which Rubina had to face financial crisis along with physical problems.

Rubina told in a media interview that before moving to the capital Bhopal, she started her shooting journey in an academy in Jabalpur. She further said that she wanted to do something other than studying in school. Gun for Glory Academy came to my school in 2015 to advertise shooting, then I told my father that I want to do this. So, I registered myself and I got selected. This is how my interest in this sport developed, my parents supported me and this is how I started shooting.

There was a time when Rubina’s family faced difficulties as they did not even have the money to pay for petrol to take her to the academy in Jabalpur. Rubina’s mother also started working in a hospital to meet the needs of the family.
