Many workers of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) headed by Sheikh Abdul Rashid have joined the National Conference (NC). However, all the leaders of Sheikh Abdul Rashid’s party say that this will not affect our electoral performance much because the public is with us.

In the Lok Sabha elections, Sheikh Abdul Rashid created a big political sensation by defeating National Conference leader Omar Abdullah. Omar Abdullah could not believe that a person in jail had defeated him in the Kashmir which he and his family ruled for a long time. The crushing defeat took away Omar Abdullah’s sleep due to which National Conference started making efforts to break into the Awami Ittehad Party, a political party headed by Sheikh Abdul Rashid, and finally got a big success in this.

Let us tell you that many workers of Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) headed by Sheikh Abdul Rashid have joined the National Conference (NC). However, all the leaders of Sheikh Abdul Rashid’s party say that this will not affect our electoral performance much because the public is with us. Let us tell you that a large number of leaders and workers are joining the Awami Ittehad Party in Srinagar every day, due to which this party claims that it is going to get huge public support in South and Central Kashmir.

When CricketInFocus correspondent in Srinagar talked to Sheikh Abdul Rashid’s son Abrab Rashid, he said that just like North Kashmir supported us in the Lok Sabha elections, we are going to get the same support from Central and South Kashmir in this assembly elections. He said that I hope that the people of Central and South Kashmir will choose our party in the assembly elections.

Meanwhile, AIP spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said that the people of Kashmir have got the option of a new regional party due to Awami Ittehad Party. He said that we are expecting a proper mandate in the elections because a fragmented mandate will not give anything. He said that we want to take the wave of North Kashmir forward to South and Central Kashmir.
